When you get the first glimpse of your first baby the feeling you get is unbelievable. But when you look at yourself after the birth has occured, you are faced with a different issue or shall we say a not so unbeliveable feeling.
Its then you know that it is time to get fit after pregnancy. But all is not lost, cause there are many ways to get fit after pregnancy.
You might be asking yourself if it is healthy to get fit after pregnancy. What i mean is that, is it healthy to lose weight so soon after giving birth?
The answer is no. Yeah, maybe celebrities and very rich people might be able to achieve that aim, but then again they have top doctors, chefs and personal trainers who can give them advice and assist them all the way.
Doing endless crunches and running miles is not the best course of action to take soon after going through a gruelsome delivery, especially if iif it was a cesaerian.
Post delivery period is not the best time to drop calories. I know this goes against trying to get fit after pregnancy but during this time you need to maintain at least 1200-1800 calories a day especially while breast feeding. droping your calorie intake so drastically can compromise the qualilty of the breast milk you give your baby. Again you may think this will hinder your goal to get fit after pregnancy.
You will not want to restrict calories so as to limit your energy because you will need it to take care of the baby. In fact breast feeding is good. To get fit after pregnancy you need to burn calories and breast feeding activity does burn calories. This in turn we help you lose some of the weight that was gained as a result and get fit after pregnancy
Doing exercises to get fit after pregnancy is much better than dieting. It will help you lose some of that baby weight and it will help prevent that post delivery depression so common among new mothers.
An easy exercise to do to get fit after pregnancy is walking the baby in its pram every evening. The baby can join in the fun and get some fresh air as well as you.
Also you can do pelvic floor exercises to help tighten up those muscles in that region. What you do is tense the muscles for five seconds then release. Then repeat again. This will help you get fit after pregnancy and prevent the syptoms of incontinence. Always remember to breath in deeply and exhale deeply as well.
Always remember that before you start any exercise program that you should always consult you physician. So as to pay close attension to troubles like shortness of breath or intenal bleeding. These are just a few simple safe ways to get fit after pregnancy.
