my wife got blood test +ve for pregnancy but still have some doubt?
she was taking some medication for fertility and also some medication for depression. She is in doubt that because of thsose medication the pregnancy hormone showed up so the pregnancy blood test may be wrong –she is waiting to go for ultrasound —–is this realistic assumption ? I thought blood test is most accurate

they our im shur she is
I say she is pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck!
The blood test is the most accurate and its a hormone that gets stronger as the pregnancy goes on, What did the doctor say? I dont know of any medicines that make the hormone in your body get stronger but it does “sound” possible but you never know! If the doctor thinks that she is indeed pregnant well then I would say that she is!!!
did she try to get the pharmacy test. first result pregnancy . give it a try they normally has 2 test and they are cost around 10$ from sears. and let he do the first one first early morning when she woke up. and from me i wish you both luck. hoping to hear the good news.
Some fertility medications can interfere with hpts, but if the doctor drew blood and confirmed the pregnancy, she’s most likely pregnant. The ultrasound will put her (and your) mind at ease that she is in fact expecting. Good luck.
Technically speaking, an ultrasound is the most accurate method of confirming pregnancy, with or without fertility treatments. That said, that does *not* mean that blood tests are in any way *in*accurate.
Most fertility medication is not a factor at all here — the one that is, and that your wife may be concerned about, is hcg, and many women taking fertility drugs get an hcg injection. Hcg is the hormone blood and urine tests look for to determine whether someone is pregnant….and hcg shots are administered as part of medicated cycles to essentially tell the woman’s body to wrap up the process of maturing the eggs and to release them. Hcg from those shots does stay in the system for a period of time and, if a pregnancy test is taken “too soon” the hcg from those shots will trigger a positive result regardless of whether the woman is actually pregnant. All that being said: if your wife had a blood test, and was on fertility drugs, I figure it’s safe for me to assume that the doctors treating her with those drugs are the same doctors who ordered/performed the bloodwork….they know how much hcg she took (if any) and when it was taken…and they know how much time is needed before a blood test can be reliably taken. So there isn’t any need to worry. (And as far as the antidepressents, they wouldn’t cause the body to manufacture hcg and they’re a non-issue. In any event, your wife’s doctor(s) should, again, know what medication she’s on and how it all works together, and unless you think they’re quacks you have to trust that they know what they’re doing!)
So all that’s a long winded way of getting around to the bottom line, which is….
Congratulations, and best of luck!!
Did she have HCG injections? If so, then they can show up on the blood test and give false results. HCG is the hormone produced when you are pregnant. Some women (including myself) have been given the HCG hormone through injection while trying to conceive. When I received them, I had to wait until day 32 of my cycle to take a blood test. If the test was positive, it had to be repeated in 2 days to check my HCG levels. When you have HCG injections, the hormone gradually goes out of your body, but when you are pregnant, the hormone keeps producing. The amount of HCG produced doubles about every 2-3 days. If your wife is concerned, have her get another blood test to check her HCG levels.
