I am a little worried that I may suffer from this even though I have do not have a history of depression. I am an always happy kind of person. Does this happen to everyone? Who suffered from post-pardum?

I was always a super happy person until I became pregnant, then I experienced severe depression. So even with postpartum I think its just something you need to be extremely aware of and take care of right away if you do so happen to get it!
My daughter is almost 6 mnths & no post-pardum here.
I have asked alot of people that I know with children about this issue…and it varies so drastically. It does seem, however, that most women who breastfeed have an easier time with hormonal readjustment, but there are always women who can’t or don’t want to and I’m sure they figure it out, too. The most common reason I have heard my friends say for their depression was lack of sleep. You get used to sleeping poorly during pregnancy (at least I am..lol!) but once the baby comes you are run pretty thin and a whole lot more is required when you wake up in the middle of the night,..therefor making it harder to keep a check on your emotions. This is just based on my personal research…I have a few months before I’ll know for myself:)
