Women are more prone to depression than men and the effect of depression in women as well as its pattern and symptoms are not the same as to men.

Statistic shows that depression among women is more common than men and has the tendency to develop clinical depression as men.In the United States, about 15 million people experience depression every year and majority of them are women, whom nearly two-thirds do not get the help they need.

Clinical studies shows that Zoloft, an antidepressant drug , is not being recommended right away for people experiencing depression because it is suspected to worsen the condition of the patients.

Psychotherapy and antidepressant therapy is recommended to lower the number of depressed women who are depending on antidepressant medication.
